A rock-cut Shiva temple in Kanyakumari district whose sanctum and hall were excavated in the late 8th or 9th century, attributed by the Archaeological Survey of India to the Ay king Vikramaditya Varaguna and by other scholars to the Pandyas. Its murals are among the earliest examples of the Kerala painting tradition, and four Vatteluttu inscriptions record donations for lamps, musicians and a festival.
