The Adikulakovil, or lineage temple, of the Ay kingdom of Kupaka, whose origins are traced to the Sangam era and which was renovated in the 9th century by the Venad king Vallabhan Kotha. Its circular sanctum houses a four-armed image of Krishna, and it is counted among the Abhimana Kshetrams.
