A Tulja Bhavani temple built in the mid-1950s by Kethavath Chandru Naik with local support, standing above the Krishna river near Nagarjuna Sagar Dam on the edge of the Nallamala forest.

The goddess is said to have come to the aid of Anubuti, a sage's wife whose penance on the Mandakini was being disturbed by the demon Kukur, and to have taken the name Tulja Bhavani after destroying him.
