History & significance

A Ganesha temple near the beach at Besant Nagar in Chennai whose image was first worshipped on a site opposite the present one inside the CPWD quarters; the enlarged temple had its first kumbhabhishekam in April 1979. An auditorium and a goshala were added later, and music programmes mark Vinayaka Chaturthi.
