A Theravada temple near the Thai-Burmese border at Sangkhla Buri, founded in 1953 by the monk Luangpho Uttama with Mon and Karen settlers and rebuilt on higher ground by 1985 after the Khao Laem Dam flooded its first site. The body of its founder rests here in a glass coffin, while the drowned original is now visited as the Sangkhlaburi underwater temple.
