Nine Shiva temples built by the Badami Chalukyas near the meeting of the Tungabhadra and Krishna, early experiments that set northern Nagara forms beside the Karnata Dravida manner and carry Shaiva, Vaishnava and Shakta imagery. Damaged from the fourteenth century onward, they were restored by the Archaeological Survey of India after 1980, and the Sangameswara temple was moved by 1990 ahead of submergence by the Srisailam dam.
