History & significance A charchala-roofed shrine on the Gomati about 55 km from Agartala, built in the 1660s-70s during the reign of Maharaja Govinda Manikya, who also raised the palace beside it. Its setting entered Bengali literature through the writings of Rabindranath Tagore.
