Known as the Wooden Konark, this Ganjam sun temple was renovated in 1790 by Srikara Bhanjadeva and counts as Odisha's second major Surya shrine after Konark. Its wooden principal image, forty-six carved pillars and chariot with seven horses driven by Aruna face west, so that the setting sun falls on the god's feet.
