A laterite Shiva temple about 45 feet high on the bank of the Dwarakeswar river some 10 km from Bankura town, raised by the Malla king Raghunath Singha Dev in the 17th century. It is said to have been built as a token of unity after a boundary dispute between the kingdoms of Mallabhum and Samantabhum.
Local tradition holds that Shiva himself meditated at the spot to settle the boundary quarrel between the two kingdoms.
