A major Mangalore temple that grew out of the Buddhist Kadarika Vihara, keeping a metre-and-a-half bronze Lokeshwara installed by the Alupa king Kundavarma and dated by inscription to 968; the shrine was rebuilt entirely in stone in the 14th century and carries inscriptions in Tulu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Parashurama is said to have done penance at Kadali Kshetra, where Shiva appeared to him as Manjunatha with Parvati.
