History & significance

A Shiva temple in Kumbakonam where the god is worshipped as Kalahasteeswarar with the goddess Gnanambikai, renovated by Serfoji of Thanjavur. It is one of the twelve Shiva temples tied to the Mahamaham festival held at Kumbakonam once every twelve years, and was reconsecrated in October 2015.
