An ashram at Kakraul in Madhubani district, Mithila, remembered as the seat of the Vedic sage Kapila and the Samkhya teaching, where a Shivalinga attributed to him is worshipped.
Kapila, born to Kardama and Devahuti, is said to have installed the Shivalinga at Kakraul, and King Siradhwaja Janaka of Mithila to have come there to learn Samkhya from him.
