A 12th-century Shiva temple on the bank of the Krishna, built under the Shilahara king Gandaraditya and known for its open Swargamandapa and dense carving; it is noted as a Shiva temple that also enshrines an image of Vishnu.
Vishnu is said to have brought Shiva here to calm his rage after Sati's death at Daksha's sacrifice, which is why the god is called Kopeshwar, the wrathful one.
