An eleventh-century Shiva temple in Bhubaneswar often read as a miniature prototype of the Lingaraja, and so as a trial run for that far larger project. Buried up to its bandhana and known locally as the Amuha deula, or doorless temple, it was excavated by Debala Mitra in 1972.
