Commissioned in 1665 by Churamoni Devi, queen of the Mallabhum king Bir Singha II, it is the only pancha-ratna temple at Bishnupur built in laterite. Five sikharas — an octagonal central tower with four square corner towers — sit on a curved roof above a sparsely decorated 11.3 m square plan; it is an ASI Monument of National Importance.
