Founded in 1694 by King Durjan Singha Dev of Mallabhum, this eka-ratna temple is faced with terracotta plaques showing Krishna-lila and the Dashavatara. It is now an ASI Monument of National Importance and no longer holds active worship.
Local tradition holds that during a Maratha raid the deity Madan Mohan himself fired the Dalmadal cannon, driving Bhaskar Rao's army back from Bishnupur.
