A Pallava-period Shiva temple at Cheyyar with an east-facing five-tiered rajagopuram, a sanctum with antarala and maha mandapam, a Nataraja Sabha holding bronzes, and shrines to Parvati, Vinayaka, Murugan, Garuda, Gajalakshmi and the Nalvar.
The name is explained by the tradition that Garuda, the eagle mount of Vishnu, worshipped Shiva at this spot.
