A goddess temple in Mumbai built in 1715 with funds raised by the Pathare Prabhu community to house a 12th-century image of Shakambari Devi, held to have been the family deity of the Seuna Yadava king Bimba of Devagiri; the idol was taken to Karnataka, attacked during Mughal times and finally brought to Mahim Creek before installation here.
Local folklore says the goddess appeared in a dream to Shyam Nayak, a devotee of the Pathare Prabhu community, who then built her a temple.
