A Hue monastery founded in the late 17th century by the Lam Te Zen master Thich Minh Hoang and granted the title Sac Tu An Ton Tu by the Nguyen lord Nguyen Phuc Chu in 1703; Emperor Thieu Tri renamed it Tu Dam in 1841. A bodhi offshoot from Bodh Gaya was planted in its forecourt in 1939.
