History & significance

A Shiva temple at Karyattukara in Thrissur city, built in Kerala style with east-facing sanctums. Maha Shivaratri, celebrated in the Malayalam month of Kumbha, is its main festival.

Sthala katha — the legend

It is held to be one of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala consecrated by the sage Parasurama.
