One of the three principal shrines in India to the tantric goddess Bagalamukhi, at Bankhandi in Kangra district, where the image sits on a golden throne among jewelled pillars. Worship here is sought for power over adversaries and the temple fills at Navratri.

Rama, guided by Hanuman, is said to have worshipped Bagalamukhi at this spot before his war with Ravana and to have been granted the Brahmastra; a fire pit in the temple is pointed out as the place of his rite.
