History & significance

A goddess temple in the southern part of Bongaigaon city, described as one of the oldest of the fifty-one Shakti Pithas and a major Hindu pilgrimage stop in western Assam; its precinct preserves a medieval rock-cut Ganesha and architectural members of a stone temple datable to the 10th-11th century.
