A riverside Shakti shrine on the bank of the Mahanadi at Sasanga in Baramba, Cuttack district, where the goddess Bhattarika is worshipped as a manifestation of Durga. Durga Puja is its principal annual observance.
Puranic tradition says the goddess appeared at this spot to lend Parashurama her power when he faced defeat at the hands of Sahasrarjuna.
