A Shaivite temple on the Ganga at Jogsar in Bhagalpur, counted among the 108 Nath shrines named in the Shiva Purana, with a lingam regarded as self-manifested. It draws more than a million pilgrims through the month of Shravan and is the starting point of an annual Kanwar Yatra to Basukinath.
Tradition places its origin in the Treta Yuga and credits its consecration to the sage Vashishtha, while the image of Bhavani in the compound is said to have floated down the Ganga from Munger.
