History & significance

A west-facing Hindu sanctuary of seven stone terraces on the slope of Mount Lawu, north-east of Ceto. Excavation in 2005 turned up a tortoise image understood as Vishnu in his Kurma form churning the ocean, and the top terrace still carries a small stana crowned in gold and wrapped in Balinese poleng cloth.
