One of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala named in the Shivalaya Stotram, standing north of the Poornathrayeesa temple in Thrippunithura, the old Brahmin settlement that served as the Cochin kingdom's capital. It is unusual in also carrying a full Navagraha installation.
The lingam is traditionally said to have been installed by the sage Parashurama.
