A hillside goddess temple on Senapati Bapat Road regarded as a presiding deity of Pune, built during the reign of the Maratha king Shivaji. Around two hundred steps climb to the shrine, and the complex also holds subsidiary shrines and eight small Ashtavinayaka images on neighbouring hillocks.
A merchant devotee named Durlabhsheth Pitambardas Mahajan is said to have been told in a dream to dig into a hill northwest of Pune, where he uncovered a self-formed image of the goddess.
