ചെട്ടികുളങ്ങര ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
Mavelikkara, Kerala · 9.2276°, 76.5172°
A large Bhadrakali temple in Alappuzha district, reckoned to be around twelve hundred years old, with its present sreekovil dating to about 1540. It is best known for Kettukazhcha, in which the surrounding villages bring towering decorated effigies and chariots to the temple ground.
A boatman is said to have ferried a mysterious old woman to Chettikulangara who then vanished, and the people took this as the goddess herself arriving to claim the place for her temple.
