A Bhagavathi temple at Palappuram near Ottapalam with two shrines, the Thazhekavu below and the older Melakavu above, and a Ganapati shrine beside a great banyan. The upper shrine is served by priests of the Kulangara Nair family while Namboothiris officiate below and during the ten-day pooram.
