A goddess temple at North Paravur in Ernakulam district whose sanctum stands within a lotus pool, with subsidiary shrines to Ganapathy, Kartikeya, Vishnu, Hanuman and others. It is best known for Navaratri, when a music festival is held and children are initiated into letters at the Vidyarambham on Vijayadashami.
The ruler of Paravur, who travelled each year to the Mookambika temple at Kollur, is said to have been told by the goddess in a dream to make her image near his palace so that he could see her daily.
