A temple of Kali in her Dakshina aspect in the southern part of the Kathmandu valley, one of the valley's most visited goddess shrines. The name plays on dakshina, the offering given with the right hand, matching an iconography in which two of the goddess's right hands make gestures of blessing and boon-giving.
It is told that Yama, the lord of death, was seized with terror at the mere sound of Kali's name, so that those who worship her here are said to overcome death itself.
