History & significance

A small Shiva shrine about 7 km from Tiruvarur, counted among the Vaippu Sthalams praised in the hymns of the Saiva saint Appar. It has no gateway tower, its lingam sanctum instead sitting inside a plain walled prakara with a nandi mandapa and subsidiary shrines.
