A rekha-order Shiva temple in Bhubaneswar raised under Eastern Ganga rule in the 13th–14th century, the standing fabric being a later renovation. Its name links it to the Ganga river goddess.
The legend holds that after Parvati defeated the demons, Shiva struck his trident into the ground to raise a spring, and Ganga and Yamuna were called to consecrate it.
