The principal Shiva temple of Muzaffarpur, popularly called the Deoghar of Bihar for the crowds it draws during Shravan. Its lingam is said to have come to light when a stand of peepal trees on the site was felled.
When the trees were cut a blood-red substance is said to have flowed from them, a great lingam was uncovered, and Baba appeared in the landowner's dream directing that worship continue there.
