One of the oldest gurdwaras in eastern India, completed in the eighteenth century at Kedli Kalan in Jharkhand and holding a hand-written copy of the Guru Granth Sahib some two centuries old. The congregation grew from Agrahari Sikh families who settled here from eastern Uttar Pradesh for the timber trade.
The site is remembered as a stop on Guru Nanak's first udasi through Bihar, where he taught the local people, and as a place later visited by Guru Tegh Bahadur travelling between Varanasi, Gaya and Patna.
