History & significance

A 25-acre river-girt temple site at Bagodar in Giridih district, about a kilometre off the Grand Trunk Road, built around a 65-foot Shivalinga described as the tallest in the world and said to have taken some thirty years to complete. It fills with pilgrims at Shravan Poornima and is a favoured venue for Hindu weddings.
