A Shiva temple at Ghantasala in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, unusual in placing Shiva and Parvati together on a single peetam. The temple's own history carries its origin back beyond the 2nd century CE.
The peetam is said to have been set up by the sage Agastya, and the Skanda Purana is cited as promising that darshan here equals that of the twelve jyotirlingas and eighteen shakti peethas together.
