A natural cave shrine north of Pachmarhi in the Satpura hills where stalagmites are venerated as self-formed lingams, fed by two springs whose pools run notably cold and warm.
The cave is said to be where Shiva hid himself from the fury of the demon Bhasmasura; the name joins jata, matted hair, with Shankara.
