History & significance

A Shvetambara Jain temple built at Patna in 1729 to commemorate the acharya Sthulabhadra, with a second shrine dedicated to Sudarshana and an inscription of 1792. It is a fixture of Bihar's Jain pilgrimage circuit.

Sthala katha — the legend

The temple is believed to stand on the ground where Sthulabhadra, successor of Bhadrabahu, spent his last days.
