A Shiva temple on the south-western edge of Kapilesvara village in old Bhubaneswar, built in the fourteenth century under the Gajapati ruler Kapilendra Deva on a site thought to hold an older shrine. The sanctum enshrines a lingam set in a circular yoni pitha.
Local legend calls this the birthplace of Shiva, honoured here as the father of the universe.
