A hill-country Shiva temple near Mananthavady reckoned about a thousand years old, destroyed in the 18th century during Tipu Sultan's campaigns. It was rebuilt through an effort led by Krishnan Nambeesan with help from residents of several faiths, and the reconsecration is marked each year on 10-11 May.
