A Chamundi temple on the western edge of Thiruvananthapuram, reckoned more than six centuries old, where the goddess is served in three distinct forms in separate sanctums.
Under the Travancore Maharajas the accused were brought before the sanctum of Raktha Chamundeswari to swear their innocence, in the belief that the goddess protects the truthful and punishes the liar.
