A Rama temple on the bank of the Karimpuzha river in Palakkad district, historically held by the Eralpad, heir to the Zamorin of Kozhikode. It is described as one of the rare Mahakshetrams of Kerala and is known locally as Dakshina Ayodhya.
Local tradition identifies the Karimpuzha with the Sarayu and holds that Rama ended his earthly life in its waters, which is why Hanuman, his companion in those last moments, is enshrined within the temple.
