A Nagara-style shrine at Pehowa in Kurukshetra district, described as one of the oldest Kartikeya temples in north India. It worships the god in his celibate form, and women are barred from entering.
The Skanda Purana account followed here has Kartikeya born of the fire of Shiva's third eye, carried by Agni and Ganga, reared by the six Pleiades in a reed thicket and grown to six faces before slaying the demon Taraka.
