A goddess shrine raised beside a tank bund by the Golconda Patel family when the bund was built, its name taken from katta, the bund itself. The Nizams offered here in the month of Ashadha for the safety of the kingdom, and the sixth Nizam, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, made an offering on the banks of the Musi during the flood of 1908.
The 1908 flood is said to have subsided the moment the Nizam completed his offering to the goddess.
