An old Bhagavathy temple at Pallippuram near Pattambi in Palakkad district, where the goddess Bhadrakali is worshipped simply as Amma and shares the shrine with Shiva. It is unusual in opening three sacred entrances, to the north, east and west.
Temple tradition traces the goddess to Muthassiar Kavu Bhagavathi and her daughters, one of whom stayed on as the guardian deity of the kanakkan community.
