Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu · 9.2333°, 79.3480°
A Vaishnava shrine 13 km from Rameswaram, counted among the 108 Abhimana Kshethrams, and the only structure at Dhanushkodi left standing by the cyclone of 1964. A proposed alignment of the Sethusamudram canal was dropped because it would have required demolishing it.
This is held to be where Vibhishana, Ravana's brother, surrendered to Rama's army, and where Rama afterwards crowned him king of Lanka.
