A Narasimha temple at Kozha near Kuravilangad, reckoned among the older shrines of Kerala and lying in territory that belonged to the Vadakkumkoor principality until about 1752. Narasimha is worshipped here in his calm aspect after the killing of Hiranyakashipu, and Narasimha Jayanti is the chief festival.
The image is held to be swayambhu, found in the forest by a hunter, whom some traditions identify as Shiva himself, and consecrated by the local people.
