History & significance

A Narasimha temple at Antarvedi in Konaseema district, standing where the Vasishta Godavari meets the Bay of Bengal, with Lakshmi worshipped here as Rajyalakshmi. Begun in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and recorded as completed in Shalivahana Saka 1745 (1823 CE), its building by Kopanathi Krishnamma is attested by a stone inscription at the site.
