A Shakta shrine at Bogribari in Kokrajhar district, once the tutelary deity of the zamindars of Parvatjowar and carrying a four-century-old tradition of animal sacrifice. It is regarded as Lower Assam's foremost pilgrimage site after Kamakhya.
The adjoining Mahamaya Snaanghat is said to be the spot where the goddess used to bathe.
